WordHunt has six game modes: Adventure, a 200-level campaign across ten worlds; Daily Hunt, one shared puzzle a day; Quick Play, any theme on demand; Mystery, where the theme is hidden; Create, which builds a puzzle from your own words; and Friends, which opens a puzzle sent as a code.
All six are available from the first launch. None of them is locked behind progress, a payment or an advertisement.
Mode 1 of 6
Work through 200 hand-built levels across 10 themed worlds on a level map.
Adventure is the main campaign. Each of the 10 worlds holds 20 levels, and completing 8 levels in a world unlocks the next one, so you are never blocked by a single puzzle you cannot solve. Levels award up to three stars based on how you finish.
Mode 2 of 6
One puzzle a day, identical for every player worldwide, with a streak counter.
Every player gets the same Daily Hunt grid on the same date, so a score is directly comparable with anyone else who played it. Finishing the day’s puzzle extends your streak; missing a day resets it. The puzzle is generated on-device from the date, so Daily Hunt works with no connection.

Pick any of 13 themes and any difficulty for a one-off puzzle.
Quick Play skips progression entirely. Choose a category and a difficulty, get a fresh grid, play it, and leave. The 13 categories are grouped as Incredible India (8 categories), Adventure Worlds, and Everyday Themes (5 categories).

The theme is hidden. Work out what it is from the words you find.
Mystery mode hides the category. You start with no idea what connects the words, and each one you find narrows it down. It turns a search puzzle into a deduction puzzle, and it is markedly harder than a themed grid of the same size because you cannot predict what you are looking for.

Build a puzzle from your own word list.
Type in your own words and WordHunt places them into a valid grid for you. Teachers use it for spelling lists, and it works equally well for names at a birthday party or vocabulary for an exam. Created puzzles can be played on the spot or shared.

Play a puzzle someone sent you as a share code. No server, no account.
The entire puzzle is encoded inside the share code itself, so nothing is uploaded anywhere and neither player needs an account. Paste a code you were sent through any messaging app and the exact puzzle rebuilds on your device.

WordHunt has 4 difficulty presets. They change three things at once: the grid size, how many words are hidden, and which directions those words can run in. Only Expert is timed.

Expert is the only preset with a clock. If timed play is not for you, Hard uses the same eight directions on a 12×12 grid with no timer. Strategies for 14×14 grids.
Each world holds 20 levels, for 200 in total. Completing 8 levels in a world unlocks the next one, so a single hard puzzle never blocks progress.

Coins are earned by playing and spent on 5 kinds of hint. They cannot be bought with money — there is no in-app purchase in WordHunt, so the only way to get coins is to play.
