Why players stay

What makes WordHunt different?

Four things, and all four are structural rather than promotional: they are consequences of how the game is built.

  • 0

    bytes uploaded

    It works with no connection

Every puzzle is generated on your device. All 6 modes work in aeroplane mode, on a train, or anywhere the signal drops. Only the ads need a network, and the game does not wait for them.

  • 0

    There is no account

No email address, no password, no social login. Install it and the first puzzle is already on screen. Nothing about you leaves the phone.

  • ₹0

    There is no paywall anywhere

All 200 levels are open from the start. Coins are earned by playing and cannot be bought. There is no premium tier and no level that asks for money.

Indian and global content, side by side

Incredible India is a full world plus eight Quick Play categories — states, festivals, rivers, monuments — alongside Around the World, Space Mission and eight more themes.

Daily Hunt

One puzzle a day. The same one, everywhere.

Daily Hunt is one puzzle per day that is identical for every WordHunt player worldwide. Everyone gets the same grid and the same words on the same date, so scores are directly comparable. Finishing it extends your streak, and missing a day resets that streak to zero.

The puzzle is derived from the date itself, on your device. That has a useful consequence: Daily Hunt works with no connection at all. You can keep a streak going on a flight, and the grid you solve is still the same one everyone else is solving.

There is no leaderboard to sign into and no profile to maintain. The streak counter lives on your phone, next to the puzzle.

Accessibility

Is WordHunt playable with low vision or limited motor control?

Yes. A word search is a dense grid of small letters, which is exactly the kind of interface that goes wrong for players who need larger text or higher contrast. WordHunt treats that as a design requirement, not an afterthought.

High-contrast mode
A dedicated palette that raises the contrast between letters, grid and highlights for low-vision players.
Four text sizes
Letter and interface text scale through four steps, so a 14×14 grid stays readable without a magnifier.
Reduced motion
Honours the system reduced-motion setting and drops animated transitions for players who get motion sickness.
Full screen-reader labelling
Every control and grid cell carries a label, so the game is navigable with TalkBack.
Touch targets of 44pt or more
No control is smaller than 44pt, which matters on a dense grid and for players with limited fine motor control.

Questions

Common questions about WordHunt

The things people most often want settled before they install.

Is WordHunt free to play?
Yes. WordHunt is completely free. There are no in-app purchases, no subscriptions and no paid hints — every one of the 200 levels and all six modes are available from the moment you install. Advertising pays for the game.
Does WordHunt work without internet?
Yes. Every puzzle is generated and played on your device, so all six modes work in aeroplane mode, on the Metro or anywhere with no signal. Only the ads need a connection, and the game does not stop when they cannot load.
Do I need an account to play WordHunt?
No. There is no sign-up, no login and no email address to give. Open the app and the first puzzle starts. Your progress is saved on your device only.
Are there any in-app purchases?
None at all. Coins are earned by playing and cannot be bought with money. There is no premium tier, no ad-removal payment and no paywall in front of any level.
What is the WordHunt Daily Hunt?
Daily Hunt is one puzzle per day that is identical for every player worldwide. Completing it extends your streak; missing a day resets the streak to zero. It is generated from the date on your device, so it works offline.
How many levels does WordHunt have?
WordHunt has 200 hand-built levels: 20 levels in each of 10 themed worlds. Beyond the campaign, Quick Play, Mystery and Create generate unlimited fresh puzzles, so the game does not run out.
Which Android versions does WordHunt support?
WordHunt runs on Android 7.0 (API level 24) and above, which covers the overwhelming majority of Android phones and tablets in use. It is an Android-only game; there is no iOS version.
Can I send a puzzle to a friend?
Yes. Create a puzzle from your own words, then share the code it generates through any messaging app. The whole puzzle is encoded in the code itself, so nothing is uploaded to a server and neither of you needs an account.
What data does WordHunt collect?
Your progress lives on your device and is deleted when you uninstall — there is no account and no server of ours. Three things go to Google and nowhere else: ads through AdMob, which may use your advertising ID, plus Firebase Analytics and crash reporting. Where consent is required you are asked first, and declining switches all three off. See the privacy policy for the detail.
Is WordHunt suitable for children?
The vocabulary and themes are family-friendly, and School Vocabulary levels track classroom words. WordHunt is not directed at children under 13, and it does contain advertising, so parents should apply their usual judgement.
